The Neue Hofburg
Welcome to
the Neue Hofburg!
The youngest wing of the splendid former imperial palace is home to unique museums and world-renowned collections, making it one of the cultural highlights of Vienna.
Admire the rich, multi-facetted holdings of the Weltmuseum Wien, the spectacular Imperial Armoury, and the splendid Collection of Historical Musical Instruments. A must for everyone interested in architecture, music, history, and cultures from all over the world.
We are currently renovating the historic skylight in the Hall of Columns, which links the Weltmuseum Wien, the Imperial Armoury and the Collection of Historic Musical Instruments. We apologise for any incidental construction noise. All our galleries and the Cook Café remain open, and we look forward to your visit!

It holds around 3,800 objects, every one of them a work of art. The armour was created on the occasion of military campaigns, coronations, or marriages and served as a visible sign of the wearer’s status.
